Modern Surveying & Mapping

Easy. Fast. Accurate.

The Looq Platform provides handheld photogrammetry for surveying and mapping that is simple, safe, and accurate. Field crews capture survey-grade 3D point clouds and 2D datasets from the ground using the qCam camera—no LiDAR, no drones, and no complex setup required.

The Looq Platform survey workflow consists of six steps. First, Setup — initialize GPS and acquire satellite lock and capture ground control points. Next, Capture — record everything from one screen while tracking your path and tagging features with automatic people and vehicle filtering. Then, Process — upload to the cloud for PPK processing, sub-centimeter georeferenced 3D and 2D model generation, and semantic feature extraction. Subsequently, Align — align the model to real-world control points including visual targets or ground markers like PK nails. Then, Draft — refine geometry, draft points and lines in 3D, assign field codes, and export CAD-ready linework. Finally, Export — deliver imagery, point clouds, vector linework, and metadata in GeoTIFF, LAZ, SHP, DXF, and CSV formats for use in CAD, GIS, and other surveying and mapping workflows.

1. Setup
Initialize GPS and acquire satellite lock. Capture ground control points automatically as you survey the site.
2. Capture
Capture everything you see from one screen while also tracking your path and tagging features. People and vehicles are automatically filtered.
3. Process
Upload captured site data to the cloud. Looq's proprietary software automatically applies Post-Processed Kinematic (PPK) to improve geolocation accuracy, builds precise, sub-centimeter, and geo-referenced 2D and 3D models, and extracts critical semantic and geometric features.
4. Align
Align the model to real-world control points—whether visual targets or ground markers like PK nails. This ensures outputs are spatially and dimensionally compatible.
5. Draft
Refine geometry, draft points and lines in 3D, assign field codes, and export clean, CAD-ready linework—all within the same streamlined workflow.
6. Export
Export imagery, point clouds, vector linework, and metadata in standard formats including GeoTIFF, LAZ, SHP, DXF, and CSV—ready for use in CAD, GIS, and other systems.

Customer Perspectives

Surveying & Mapping Capabilities

Project Setup & Capture

With qCam choose from visible targets or discreet survey nails to adapt to site conditions. As a result, field crews can ensure precise georeferencing for every handheld photogrammetry capture.

Ground Controls

The Looq Platform offers flexible control setup options for surveying and mapping projects. Specifically, choose from visible targets or discreet survey nails to adapt to site conditions. As a result, field crews can ensure precise georeferencing for every handheld photogrammetry capture. Watch webinar: Achieving High Accuracy with Looq.

Real-Time Visual Confirmation

The qCam mobile interface on the handheld photogrammetry camera displays a live 2D map of your path alongside the camera’s field of view. This means you can track your position in real time, select points for future analysis, and ensure complete and accurate coverage throughout your surveying and mapping capture.

Surveying & Mapping Processed Outputs

AI reconstructed outputs include intelligent, high-resolution 2D datasets; panoramic and orthomosaic imagery; and 3D point clouds.

Align to Control

The qCam’s high quality GNSS+IMU and cloud-based PPK post-processing deliver precise positional accuracy for surveying and mapping projects right out of the box. Additionally, further refinement is available via ground control alignment and local base station corrections — essential for handheld photogrammetry workflows requiring sub-centimeter accuracy. Before running adjustments, preview expected accuracy, flag points as control or check, and modify them to see residuals instantly. Finally, export a PDF report summarizing your results. Drafting

Point Selector

From the qApp web environment, identify and label a set of high-value, precisely surveyed points. Furthermore, these points serve as reference for future workflows in CAD, GIS, and other spatial tools.

Virtual Surveying

From the qApp web environment, select points and draft lines in 3D. Additionally, assign field codes and thin point cloud data to what matters most for your workflow. As a result, export clean, structured CSV files and other formats to CAD, GIS, and other spatial tools — ready for use without additional cleanup. Frequently Asked Questions

What surveying and mapping use cases does Looq AI support?

The Looq Platform supports a wide range of surveying and mapping applications including residential, commercial, and ALTA surveys; urban roadways and intersections; boundary, plat, and right-of-way documentation; subsurface and overhead utility surveys; oil and gas site surveys; and general surface and feature mapping. The platform captures survey-grade 3D point clouds and 2D datasets for any ground-level surveying workflow.

How accurate is the Looq Platform for land survey?

Out-of-the-box PPK processing delivers 3 cm horizontal and 6 cm vertical accuracy. With local base station corrections and control point alignment accuracy improves to under 1 cm — meeting survey-grade requirements.

What software does the Looq Platform integrate with for civil engineering workflows?

Looq exports directly to AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Autodesk ReCap, TopoDOT, and ESRI ArcGIS in standard formats including LAZ, GeoTIFF, DXF, SHP, and CSV.

Is the Looq Platform faster than traditional survey methods?

Yes. Field crews using the Looq Platform complete surveys significantly faster than traditional methods — with fully automated cloud processing eliminating manual data prep and can reduce refielding by as much as 50%.

Does the Looq Platform replace the need for drones in surveying?

For ground-level surveying and mapping the Looq Platform fills in the gaps, and can minimize or eliminate the need for drones. The qCam handheld camera captures everything from the ground — no flight permits and no restricted airspace issues.
