Field Capture Do's and Don'ts
TUESDAY, MAY 19
9:00 a.m. PDT / 12:00 PM EDT
With any capture technology it is important to understand not only how to collect data properly, but also what to avoid! This session will cover capture workflows for all types of sites and discus what can cause issues with the automated processing.

Introduction to qPole: Go from Field to PLA-Ready in ~15 Minutes per Pole
TUESDAY, JUNE 16
9:00 a.m. PDT / 12:00 PM EDT
Join us for a walk through of the qPole capabilities. New to the Looq Platform, qPole helps you transform simple field captures into accurate engineering-ready asset models in a fraction of the time and cost compared with traditional workflows. With qPole, the AI-enabled workflow allows you to quickly capture and model poles while focusing on engineering decisions rather than data cleanup. Now you can avoid both refielding and overbuilds.
In this session you will learn how to:
- Import construction libraries and pole lists
- Define structure and component geometry/ attributes
- Export to common modeling software such as SPIDAcalc, PLS-CADD, and O-Calc

Engineers (T&D, Telecom)
Introduction to the AI capabilities in qPole
TUESDAY, JULY 28
9:00 a.m. PDT / 12:00 PM EDT
qPole AI allows you to automate the most time consuming and manual aspects of generating PLA-ready models from your data.
In this session you will learn about the performance and limitations of qPole AI:
- Setting up a project
- Importing construction library
- Running qPole AI which is detecting the pole geometry (e.g. tops/bottoms, cross arms)
- Review the results
- Provide labeling/attributing of the components
- Exporting to common modeling software such as SPIDAcalc, PLS-CADD, and O-Calc
Who should attend?
Engineers (T&D, Telecom)
Looq Platform versus Drones
TUESDAY, AUGUST 18
Should you walk a site with the Looq Platform or should you fly it with a drone? Learn about how both of these tools can be used to generate accurate data for your projects. We will discuss the pros and cons of each. Then we will provide some recommendations on when to use each.
Who should attend?
Surveyors, Engineers (Civil, T&D, Telecom)
Looq Platform Data and PLSCADD
FUTURE DATE TBD
Learn practical steps to prepare captured data for use in PLS-CADD and AMBER. This session covers verifying coordinates, refining pole and conductor geometry, classifying vegetation and other features, assigning field codes, and organizing point sets—so your data imports efficiently and supports accurate modeling, clearance checks, and structural analysis.
Who should attend?

Past Sessions
Get access to past Looq webinar sessions by filling out the form below.
Achieving High Accuracy with Looq: Learn how the Looq Platform delivers survey-grade positioning with flexible workflows for any site. This session covers using PPK out-of-the-box with CORS or other correction services, tying to control points, or leveraging local base stations with static RINEX observations.
- Flexible control setup for varying site conditions
- Accurate georeferencing for CAD, GIS, and other engineering workflows
- Consistent, repeatable results without extensive field set-up
Capture Workflows for Linear Survey Projects: Linear work demands accuracy across distance and detail. This session shows how the Looq Platform simplifies field capture for corridor projects—delivering clean and accurate data for design.
Capture Workflows for Overhead Power: Capture and process precise geometry for poles, conductors, crossarms, and other overhead assets. Learn how to organize your data, work with classified point, verify heights and angles, and assign field codes—so your data is ready for engineering analysis or design work.
Capture Workflows for Topographic Surveys: Learn how the Looq Platform delivers the accuracy and detail that topographic mapping demands—capturing data with proper field procedures using your own ground control points to improve accuracy.
Introducing new qSurvey Capabilities: Get an inside look at the latest capabilities in the Looq Platform and how we are helping you redefine virtual surveying. We’ll walk through new features, workflows that make collecting and collaborating. Special thanks to partner, Geometius for the use of data captured and processed as an exemplar of the capabilities for qSurvey.
Sharing Data with the Looq Platform: Processed data from the Looq Platform can be exported and shared in standard, open formats for use across engineering, survey, and GIS environments. In this session, learn how to export in supported formats including the following: point clouds (LAZ), nadir imagery (TIFF), and panoramas (JPG). Also learn how to share data securely in the Looq web platform with your colleagues and clients!
Working with Looq Data in AutoCAD Civil 3D: Learn how to use Looq data Civil 3D to create breaklines and surfaces. This session covers practical steps to prevent common issues:
- Coordinate control: Ensure points tie correctly to your survey control and datum
- Noise reduction: Remove vegetation, vehicles, and other outliers that disrupt surfaces
- Breaklines and feature codes: Automatically generate coded lines and figures for accurate surfaces and corridors
- Point set organization: Thin and structure point clouds for better performance
- Layer and naming consistency: Standardize exports so your data drops in without extra cleanup
Working with Looq Data in TBC: Looq’s photogrammetric data capture platform is compatible with Trimble Business Center (TBC), allowing professionals to use our survey-grade data directly within TBC workflows without conversion.
