Utilities need accurate, actionable pole inspection data to strengthen and modernize the grid. As Looq Services expands nationwide, we're looking for a business development leader to turn that demand into long-term utility partnerships and scalable revenue growth. Looq Services runs as a standalone P&L, and you'll own its revenue line. Our model is land and expand: you'll win the first program at each utility, then keep the relationship strong and grow it into more territories, service lines and multi-year agreements.
You understand how electric utilities make purchasing decisions, build relationships with senior stakeholders, and turn complex technical solutions into high-value agreements. You have the industry experience, commercial credibility, and drive to build a new services business from the ground up.
Reports to: CEO
You bring 8+ years selling engineering or field services to electric utilities, relationships at the director/VP level in distribution engineering or asset management, and a record of closing $2M+ agreements. You know how utilities fund and procure work, and you can explain a new technology to engineers and buyers alike.
A $180,000–$250,000 base salary, plus 10% uncapped commission on collected Looq Services revenue, stock options with milestone grants, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, and a remote-work stipend.

8+ years selling engineering or field services to electric utilities, with a record of closing agreements above $1M a year.
A track record of growing utility accounts after the first sale through renewals, expanded scope and multi-year agreements.
Working relationships at the director and VP level in distribution engineering, asset management or standards at US utilities.
Fluency in how utilities buy: rate cases, capital program approval, procurement cycles, MSA structures and the difference between a signed agreement and a funded work order.
Familiarity with pole inspection, GIS and asset data, and the vendor landscape in distribution inspection and engineering.
Comfort selling a new category: you can explain photogrammetry and survey-grade accuracy to an engineer and to a procurement officer in the same meeting.
Willingness to build the playbook rather than inherit one.
This is your opportunity to help build a new services business, with its own P&L, from the ground up and make a measurable impact on how utilities strengthen America's electrical grid. You'll have the autonomy to develop the commercial strategy, collaborate directly with regional General Managers and Product, and help shape the future of Looq Services. Your contributions will be rewarded through uncapped commission and stock options with milestone grants.
This is a remote role based anywhere in the United States, with 40–60% travel to meet utility customers, work with our regional field teams, and represent Looq at industry conferences. You'll also spend regular time at our San Diego headquarters to work with Engineering and Product and stay aligned with the leadership team. Expect to be in San Diego most months, and at least once a quarter for leadership meetings.
Full-time, exempt role with:
Base salary of $180,000–$250,000, plus an uncapped commission of 10% of collected Looq Services revenue from accounts you sign and grow within the Services arm.
Stock options with a four-year vesting schedule, plus milestone grants tied to contracted annual revenue.
Standard Looq benefits: medical, dental, vision, paid time off, remote-work stipend.

Looq AI is transforming how utility infrastructure is captured, inspected, and understood. Our qCam is a photogrammetric multi-camera system that turns a walk along a utility line into survey-grade 3D data. Engineering firms and utilities use Looq to inspect, model, and strengthen distribution networks faster and at a lower cost than traditional field methods.
Headquartered in San Diego and venture-backed, Looq is growing quickly as utilities across the U.S. invest billions in modernizing and strengthening the grid.
Looq Services is the next phase of our growth — a new field services business unit, run on its own P&L, that's taking our technology directly to utilities. We're expanding beyond cameras and software by building our own field teams to capture data and deliver finished inspection results, including pole geometry, crossarm and insulator conditions, attachments, clearances, and loading analysis, with a 72-hour turnaround from capture to delivery.
Using a truck and a qCam, a single technician can capture approximately 90 poles per day. We're building our first field teams across the Mountain West, Pacific Northwest, Midwest, and East. The people joining us now will play a direct role in shaping how Looq Services operates and grows.
