Accelerating recovery.
After the 2024 Jasper wildfire destroyed nearly 300 structures, McElhanney used the Looq AI Platform to support Parks Canada's property boundary restoration — capturing four downtown areas in about four hours with precise, geo-referenced point clouds.
Every corner, by hand, takes days.
Downtown Jasper's buildings sit right on their property lines, so verifying boundaries means checking every building corner — days of detailed ground survey and photo documentation across a fire-damaged site, with no easy way to revisit a spot.
The whole downtown in an afternoon.
With the Looq Platform, McElhanney scanned four areas with GPS ground control, each under 15 minutes. The point cloud yields building footprints to check against calculated boundaries, and any corner can be inspected in 3D or panoramic photos from the office.
A fully constructed 3D model from photos — explore the downtown back in the office.
