Walk the line, run the camera, get paid per pole. Looq AI builds the qCam, a camera system that captures utility poles in survey-grade 3D as you walk the route. We’re hiring Field Capture Technicians to join our first crews in the Mountain West, Pacific Northwest, Midwest, and Eastern United States.
Your day is straightforward: drive to the route, capture 80–100 distribution poles using the qCam and GNSS equipment, document anything the camera can’t see, upload the data, and move on to the next route. Travel is typically Monday through Thursday during the season, with per diem and a company vehicle or truck allowance.
Reports to: General Manager, Field Services — [US]
You’ll be a strong fit if you’ve worked outdoors in utility, telecom, surveying, inspection, or construction; are comfortable using GPS equipment and a tablet; can walk 8–12 miles per day carrying up to 40 lbs. of equipment; and have a clean driving record. Pole inspection or joint-use audit experience is a plus, but we’ll train you on the qCam.

Experience working outdoors on utility, telecom, survey, inspection or construction crews; pole inspection, joint-use audit or GIS field collection experience is a plus but not required.
Comfort with technology: tablets, GPS equipment, cameras, basic file management. We train the qCam.
Physically able to walk 8–12 miles a day over uneven terrain in all weather, carrying up to 40 lb, and to drive long distances.
Reliable, self-directed and honest about problems: a missed pole caught on Tuesday is cheap; one found by the utility in March is not.
Valid driver's licence with a clean record; able to pass a utility background check, drug screen and DOT-style medical where required.
Willing to travel most weeks during the field season.
Join one of the first Looq Services crews and help shape how a new field unit runs. You'll work outdoors with the qCam, capturing utility poles in survey-grade 3D, and the data you collect goes straight to the utilities hardening their distribution networks. We train you on the qCam and provide all equipment, PPE and a company vehicle or truck allowance, and your production bonus rewards every accepted pole above the daily target.
Join us in the field and work where the projects are. You’ll be based within your assigned territory, with multi-day travel to project sites, typically Monday through Thursday or Friday. We’ll help keep you moving with a company vehicle or truck allowance, plus per diem for eligible travel days.
Full-time, non-exempt (hourly) role with:
$26–$38/hour, based on experience and work location, plus overtime in accordance with applicable law.
Monthly production bonuses for each qualifying pole captured above the daily production target, based on data accepted through Looq's quality review process.
Travel support, including per diem and a company vehicle or truck allowance, as applicable.
Company-provided equipment and PPE.
After completing one year of employment, employees may be considered for stock option grants, subject to company approval and the terms of the applicable equity plan. Stock options are not guaranteed.
Standard Looq employee benefits in accordance with applicable plan terms.

Looq AI is transforming how utility infrastructure is captured, inspected, and understood. Our qCam is a photogrammetric multi-camera system that turns a walk along a utility line into survey-grade 3D data. Engineering firms and utilities use Looq to inspect, model, and strengthen distribution networks faster and more efficiently than traditional field methods.
Headquartered in San Diego and venture-backed, Looq is growing quickly as utilities across the U.S. invest billions in modernizing and strengthening the grid.
Looq Services is the next phase of that growth. Rather than only providing the technology, we’re building our own field teams to capture data and deliver finished inspection results directly to utilities — including pole geometry, crossarm and insulator conditions, attachments, clearances, and loading analysis, with a 72-hour turnaround from capture to delivery.
Using a truck and a qCam, a single technician can capture approximately 90 poles per day. We’re building our first field teams across the Mountain West, Pacific Northwest, Midwest, and East — and the people joining us now will have a real opportunity to help shape how Looq Services operates and grows.
